My friend Sheila is hosting an awesome giveaway on her blog Runnin' Late, Again! It is a chance to win an awesome Wii game, EA Sports Active, which gives you the opportunity to customize a workout perfect for YOU! I don't know about you, but I could definitely stand to lose a few pounds and just get in shape, so I think this is awesome! Head on over to her blog and check it out! : )

Cuteness

Is she getting big or what?? She's started doing some really cute, new things lately and I just wanted to share. She started waving over a month ago, but now she waves ALL the time. As soon as I get her out of her crib in the morning, she starts smiling and waving. As soon as we step out of the house, she starts smiling and waving. Walking through the parking lot at Walmart...yep, you guessed it. She will wave at anyone and anyTHING. She waves at people she doesn't even know and gives them this "WTH look" if they don't wave back. She has even taken to waving to our ceiling light in the living room. Silly girl! I have to admit, it does freak me out just a tad when she starts waving and smiling at thin air (especially since we've had some freaky things happen in our house before).

We realized on Sunday that Brooke has picked up on how you call a dog (i.e. - smooching your lips and making that kissy noise...lol...can *you think of a better way to describe it??). We were at my cousin's graduation party, which was at their house in their yard and their neighbors have a golden retriever named Jake (very pretty dog). Brooke started going nuts when she saw him (she LOVES animals) and then started making that noise! She does it anytime she sees a dog now. It's super cute. And since then I've taught her how to say "woof woof", which comes out more like "ooffff", when I ask her what a doggie says. I love it : ).

And another thing she now does (and I was trying to get a pic this morning, to no avail) is give her doll kisses when you tell her, too. Complete with the "lip smacking". She seems to really like her baby dolls and I'm so happy about that : ). I hope it lasts for awhile because I (still) love dolls! However, the little turd will NOT give me a kiss when I tell her to "Give Mommy a kiss!" : P.

One more thing...I got SO excited last week on Friday because she took THREE steps before falling down. I thought for sure she would be walking soon, but I've barely been able to get her to take even ONE step since then : P. I stand her up and she just smiles and slowly sits down, lol. Oh well...when she's ready!

Zachary Logan

Seven years ago today, our first baby entered the world 16 weeks too soon. He was only here for 11 short days, but he taught me so much in that time, about life and death and God and faith. It may sound strange, but having him and then losing him made me feel closer to God than I ever had. I know that Zachary is up in Heaven with Jesus and that he is safe and will never experience any of the pain or heartache in this world. I would love it if he were still here to hold and watch grow up, but there's nothing I can do to change that, so I choose to be at peace, knowing that God's will was done in his life.

We only visit the cemetary on his birthday. I don't really like going there. I know he's not there and I don't feel like I need to go there to be close to him or remember him. But I do like taking him flowers on his birthday and taking some pictures. It seems like he's had more rainy birthdays than not and today was one of them....so I wasn't able to get as many pics of Ryan and Brooke there as I would have liked. But we did get a few.

Brooke realllly wanted those flowers....

I also have to include one of my most favorite pictures ever...this is Ryan when he was almost 2.

This was another yucky day ~ notice the plastic bag Ryan is sitting on? And also the fact that he's wearing jeans and a sweatshirt, in JUNE. Looking back, out of 7 years, I think it's only been nice out for 2 of Zachary's birthdays ~ his first birthday and his 3rd birthday
